Mos Eisley Silver Mine

Mos Eisley, by BJM, on Eurobricks

When I finally had the chance to build the new Mos Eisley Cantina set (75052) earlier this year, I was very impressed by it.  In fact, I’m happy to accept that it’s in a totally different league to the original version which dates back to 2004.  However, my only real criticism is that it’s a touch on the compact size and I’m not alone in this view.  There’s been several recent MOCs that have addressed this issue, and this one by BJM is very well executed. Predominantly comprising the parts from three standard sets and the Lone Ranger ‘Silver Mine Shootout’ it demonstrates how impressive the official set could have been if it was given the full ‘UCS playset’ treatment by TLG!  It’s packed with great little touches and an extensive array of minifigures.  However, if I’m being picky I’m not sure why Chief Tarfful is lurking behind the bar, but perhaps he appears in one of the future special editions of Episode IV; you’ll have to watch this space!  In the meantime, head over to the Star Wars forum and take a look.
