The 140 workers, members of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, work as certified nursing assistants, recovery aides, dietitians and homemakers at AristaCare at Delaire Nursing Home, 400 W. Stimpson Ave., Linden.

According to the union, AristaCare Health Services, a for-profit nursing home chain, bought the Linden facility last summer and canceled the workers’ contract negotiated with the previous owner, they said .
